John Denver, a singer-songwriter from Colorado who specialized in folk music, touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf in Roswell located in the state of New Mexico,, fell in love with Colorado. He moved to Aspen. More than a few people beat a path to Colorado due to Denver's famous tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado like John Denver." Denver is the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured by the honor in 2011. Today, he is the international face of Colorado. Through my travels, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform people you're from Colorado the first words they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit after performing with small folk music bands. The song was written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version and knew it would become an instant hit in the top 10. The song was recorded just two weeks following that Washington D.C. performance.
